例年5月と10月に開催しているALLDAYですが、今年10月の大会については、諸般の事情により開催を見送ることとなりました。出場を楽しみにしてくださっていたチームやボーラーの皆さま、観戦を心待ちにしてくださっていたファンの皆さま、そしてこれまで多方面からALLDAYを支えてくださっている関係者の皆さまには、大変申し訳なく思っております。

ALLDAYは2005年に初めて開催しました。当時、日本のバスケットボールはまだ黎明期にあり、ストリートボールはほとんど根付いていない時代でした。そんな中で「代々木公園のバスケットボールコートをニューヨークのラッカーパークのような“聖地”にしたい」との想いから、ALLDAYは生まれました。当時はフルコート5on5のストリートゲームは皆無で、公園という公共の場で大会を実現することは簡単ではなく、最初のALLDAYは1day・1コートのみという小さな規模でのスタートでした。

それから20年。試行錯誤を重ね、49回の開催を経て、多くの方々のご理解とご協力のもと、ALLDAYは現在の4daysの形にまで成長することができました。その間、日本のバスケットボールも大きく発展し、ストリートボールも厚みを増し、多くのチームやボーラーがALLDAYを目指してくれる現在へとつながっています。

20年もの間、続けてこられたこと自体が奇跡のようであり、決して当たり前ではありません。だからこそ、20周年を迎えた今、ALLDAYの存在価値や意義を改めて見つめ直すタイミングだと私たちは感じています。これからも「文化」として永く続いていくALLDAYを、新たな視点で創り直していきたいと思います。

節目となる50回目の記念大会は、来年5月に開催できるように新たな準備を開始しました。それまでにしっかりと準備を重ね、これまでと変わらぬALLDAYを、そしてこれからも続いていくALLDAYをお届けできるよう努めてまいります。
また代々木公園バスケットボールコートでお会いしましょう。

Thank you as always for your support of ALLDAY.

Although ALLDAY is normally held every May and October, due to various circumstances we will not be holding this year’s October tournament. We’re sorry to share this news with the teams and players who were looking forward to competing, the fans who were excited to attend, and all the partners and supporters who have helped sustain ALLDAY over the years.

ALLDAY was first launched in 2005. At the time, Japanese basketball was still in its infancy, and streetball had hardly taken root. Out of the desire to make the Yoyogi Park basketball courts into a “sacred place” like New York’s Rucker Park, ALLDAY was born. Back then, there were no full-court 5-on-5 street games, and organizing a tournament in a public park was far from easy. The very first ALLDAY began on a small scale—just one day and one court.

Over the past 20 years, through trial and error and with the understanding and cooperation of many people, ALLDAY has grown to its current four-day format, held 49 times to date. During that time, Japanese basketball itself has developed significantly, and streetball has gained depth, with many teams and players now setting their sights on ALLDAY.

Being able to continue for 20 years is nothing short of a miracle, and it is by no means something to be taken for granted. That is why, as we mark our 20th anniversary, we feel this is the right moment to reflect on the value and significance of ALLDAY. We want to rebuild it from a new perspective, so that ALLDAY will continue on as a lasting “culture.”

We have already begun preparations for the milestone 50th tournament, which we plan to hold in May next year. We’ll do our best to deliver the ALLDAY you know, and to keep it going strong.
